Protealis Launches Ready-to-Sow Soybean Solution MagNfix™ at Euroseeds 2026 Congress

26 Oct 2026

  • Ready-to-sow pre-coated soybean seed solution MagNfix™ launched commercially in Europe
  • Setting a new performance standard with performance found as good as freshly applied inoculant for 90 days[1], and independent multi-location registration trials recording +31% average yield and +7% protein content compared with reference inoculants[2]
  • Soybean seed distributors are invited to the MagNfix™ launch cocktail today, 26 October, from 17:00–18:00 CET at the Meliá Valencia.

Valencia, Spain / Ghent, Belgium, 26 October 2026 - Protealis, the European specialist in non-GMO legume seeds and seed technologies, today announces the commercial launch of MagNfix™, its proprietary ready-to-sow soybean seed inoculant. The launch is announced during the Euroseeds Congress in Valencia, Spain, where Protealis is hosting a MagNfix™ launch cocktail event with seed distributors and industry partners.

Today, more than 90% of soybean consumption in Europe is still met through imports[3]. Increasing European soybean production depends not only on the availability of soybean genetics and varieties adapted to local European growing conditions. Bradyrhizobium bacteria which are needed for the soybean plant’s growth and protein production, are absent in European agricultural soils[4], and requires farmers to inoculate soybean seeds before planting.

Current soybean seed inoculation methods however still struggle to deliver consistent results at farm scale. Benjamin Laga, CEO of Protealis, says: “Soybean cultivation in Europe has advanced considerably through genetics, but inoculation remains an important practical challenge. Whether applied at the factory or on-farm, many existing approaches often rely on tropical bacterial strains not adapted to local European soils, are difficult to store or transport, and are applied unevenly. In addition, most inoculants have a very limited shelf life; live bacteria must be applied within 1-2 days before planting, or they rapidly lose effectiveness. This makes large-scale inoculation impractical and limits the yield and protein potential farmers can achieve.”

The MagNfix™ coating technology[5] keeps bacteria viable to perform as good as a freshly applied inoculant for 90 days2. In independent multi-location trials, MagNfix™ delivered a +31% average yield increase and a +7% improvement in protein content compared with reference inoculants1. Similar field trial data show no statistically significant difference in yield or protein content between MagNfix™-coated seed sown after one, two or three months in storage and seed sown immediately after coating[6].

“The field data is important as it shows agronomic performance and flexibility. The seed is delivered ready to sow, straight from the bag, containing bacteria effective in European soils for 90 days, allowing the farmer to sow when the weather conditions are right. The combination of high-performance soybean genetics with a high-performance inoculant in a single, integrated seed, is new”, continued Benjamin Laga.

MagNfix™ will be available through European soybean seed distributors as a ready-to-sow soybean seed. MagNfix™ is listed on the German and European FiBL Input Lists, making the solution suitable for organic agriculture as well as conventional growers. The launch is announced today at the Euroseeds2026 Congress, the annual gathering of Europe's seed sector taking place between 25-28 October in Valencia, Spain, which attracted more than 1,300 participants last year[7].

Protealis invites interested soybean seed distributors to the MagNfix™ launch cocktail today, 26 October, from 17:00 – 18:00 CET at the Meliá Valencia hotel in Valencia, across the Euroseeds2026 Valencia Conference Centre.

Results showed no statistically significant difference in yield and protein content between seed coated with 1, 2, or 3 month old MagNfix™ before planting, versus seed coated immediately before planting.
